Obituary for Sara Elizabeth Catron

Sara Elizabeth Catron, age 50, of Lexington, formerly of Berea, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at UK Medical Center after a battle with cancer.

Sara was born in Lexington, Kentucky to the Meral Dean and the late Virgil V. Catron. She was employed by Home Depot and was a member of the Berea United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of BCHS, Berea College, and Eastern Kentucky University.

She is survived by her mother, Meral Dean Otis Catron; her brothers, Gregory Wayne Catron, and Mark Otis Catron and his wife Crystal; her niece, Channing Marie Catron and her nephew, Caleb Mark Catron. She is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 1pm, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Berea United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Timo Karvonen officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Lakes Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm. Active pallbearers will be Jill Williams Carney, Richard Carney, Angela Webb, Janet White, Kathy Pribonic Harris, Matt Harris, Mark Woodlee, and Caleb Catron. Donations may be made to the Sara Catron Memorial Fund that is set up at Berea United Methodist Church. A special thanks to Sara’s prayer warriors Hyla Woodlee and Faye Ballinger and their families for all they did for her. Inspiration, hope, love and strong faith to fight a good fight.
