Obituary

Robert Gale Garner, SR. was born in Lubbock, Tx September 4, 1951 to the late Austin B Garner SR. and Mary L Burress and died Saturday, September 19, 2020 after years of heart issues. He proudly served as a paratrooper during and after the Vietnam War having enlisted at a time when most tried to avoid it. He attended Texas Tech University and later entered civil service at Reese Air Force Base. He was affectionately known as “Bobby” by all who knew him and “Uncle Bobby” by numerous nieces, nephews and others always quick with a one liner and a grin. He LOVED his family, friends, pocket knives and fishing. Bobby Garner dedicates most of his retired years to helping other veterans through the VFW, attaining the title of vice-commander before his health cut that service short. Beloved father, son, husband and brother. He was a good and loving man who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Garner, sons Robert Garner JR. of Houston and Kristopher Garner of Berea, Ky, brothers Austin B Garner of Meade, Ks, Edgar C Garner of Lubbock, Tx and sister Kathy Garner Lambert of Lubbock, Tx. Our thanks to Lakes Funeral Home for the excellent care of our Husband, Father and Brother. Private services will be held at a later date.
The family requests for all gifts and flowers to be sent to the Rose Terrace Lodge located at 401 N 2nd St., Nicholasville, KY 40356 and addressed to Norma Jean (Jeannie) Garner.
