Robert Day

Robert Day age 99, husband of the late Margaret Pingleton Day, passed away Wednesday Feb. 19, 2020 in Lancaster KY. Robert was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, a long-time member of the White Lick Baptist Church and life long farmer from the Cartersville community. Robert was born in Cartersville to the late Nathan and Delia Brock Day, and he was preceded in death by his daughter Lillie Mae Parsons, and 7 of his siblings.
Robert is survived by his children: David (Tammy) Day, and Eunice (Charles) Locker, his brother Boyd (Louise) Day, and sisters: Gladys (Maurice) Green, Para Lee Bean, Ruth Poynter, and Barbara (Lonnie) Napier, his grandchildren: Keith (Pamelia) Locker, Patty Jennings, Amy (Tony) Renner, Randy (Jackie) Ash, Geoffrey (Pam) Ash, Sean (Kayla) David Day, and Shonna Hager, his 12 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday Feb. 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm at White Lick Baptist Church, burial will take place at Robinson Cemetery in Cartersville. Pallbearers will be Keith Locker, Randy Ash, Geoffrey Ash, Sean Day, Preston Lee Wilt, and David Logan Grimmer. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-9 pm at White Lick Baptist Church. Lakes Funeral Home is handling arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhome.com.

During the years that I was part of this family, I do not recall Grandpa (Robert) saying anything bad about anyone. He was a true Christian, a good husband, a good father, and a wonderful grandfather. He will always be Grandpa to me. Grandpa, you are going to be missed more than words can say.
