Obituary

Marvin Van Winkle was born April 16, 1965 to Farris “Pete” and Georgia Van Winkle, the youngest of three children. He departed this life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 being 54 years of age.
Marvin is survived by his estranged wife, Stephanie; two sons, Travis Cooper of Irvine and Justin Van Winkle of Berea; his mother, Georgia Mae Van Winkle of Berea; a sister Verla (Russell) Isaacs of Big Hill; and a brother, Dwayne Van Winkle of McKee. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Farris “Pete” Van Winkle; his maternal grandparents, Sherman and Opal (Carrier) Northern; and his brother-in-law, Audie Hatton.
He enjoyed the outdoors, he liked hiking in the woods and digging for ginseng. Marvin enjoyed fishing and enjoyed it even better when they were biting. He was of the Holiness faith.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea. Burial will follow in the See Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation will be from 11 am – 2 pm at the funeral home on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Rusty Riley, Renee Riley, Lee J. Hatton, Brian Isaacs, Heather Van Winkle Owens, and Amos Ashcraft.
