Obituary

John Drew Lake

John Drew Lake age 88, husband of Nancy Darby Lake, passed away Thursday Nov. 12, 2020 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. John was born in Garrard County to the late Jake S. and Ella Allen Lake, he lived most of his life in Cartersville, was a long-time farmer and retired from Parker Seal Company in Berea. John was a member of the Berea Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran. He was also preceded in death by a brother Donald Lake, and his sisters: Irene Lake, Bess St. Claire, Lorene Green, and Mable Hayes.
John is survived by his wife Nancy Darby Lake, his children: Mike (Julie) Lake, and Scott (Karla) Lake, his brother Gary Lake, and his grandchildren: Ben Lake, Bailey Lake, Jared Lake, and Rebekah Lake.
Funeral services will be Wednesday Nov. 18, 2020 at 1 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Slemp officiating. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home. The family will observe state mandate for facial coverings and social distancing for all services.
