Dorothy Faye Turner, 68 of Berea, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. A Jackson County native, she was born to the late Estill and Opal Parrett Adkins. Dorothy spent the last forty-nine years being affectionately loved by her surviving husband, James Turner.
Also surviving her are two children, Donnie (Melinda) Turner, and Jennifer (Tommy) Rowland. Four brothers, Oscar (Betty) Adkins, Pleaz (Doris) Adkins, Jerry Adkins, Glenn Adkins. Two sisters, Ann (Jack) Gadd, and Betty (Billy) Welch. Seven grandchildren, Andrew, Evan, Brittney, Thomas, Wyatt, Shelbie, and Cheyenne; and two great grandchildren, Mckoy and Jaxon. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was proceeded in death by two sisters, the late Edith Adkins (infant), and the late Earlene (Elbert) Lamb.
Family, friends, and neighbors’ kids knew Dorothy for her compassion for others and concern about if they had enough to eat. Her kitchen was always ready to feed a hungry soul. She loved life and was especially fond of red birds paying a visit. Dorothy was of the Baptist faith and will missed by many friends, extended family and those her life touched.
Services for Dorothy will take place on Sunday December 6, 2020 and burial will be in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Due to current state mandates all services are private. Lakes Funeral Home is handling arrangements where condolences can be left at www.lakesfuneralhome.com.
