Obituary for Anthony Mills

Anthony Lee Mills, of Berea, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at home at the age of 55.
Known to all as Tony, he was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 23, 1965 to Harry and Connie Mills.
Tony was an avid outdoorsman, and is known far and wide as one of the best shots in the state. He loved nothing more than spending the morning in the woods hunting deer, squirrel, or turkey with his best friend, his dad. As great of a hunter as he was, he is perhaps known even better in the local community as a musician, and enjoyed twenty years as the rhythm guitarist and lead singer of Hasty Street, a band formed with his brother Wess and named after the street they grew up on in Huntington, Indiana. Aside from these pursuits, Tony enjoyed watching the cats play, beating everyone at go-kart racing, being a dad to his three girls, and drinking coffee with his hero, his mom.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Georgia Hicks of Berea, and Troy and Willie Mills, of Barbourville, and special cousins Janie, and Jimmie Greyston, and Lisa Jett.
In addition to his parents, Tony is survived by his daughters Cheyenne Griffith (and husband Zach) of Lexington; Ashley Mills of Richmond; and Hayven Mills of Crab Orchard, his brother Wess (and wife Merry), his niece Jessi Jones of Berea (and husband Shane), nephews Cody and Austin Mills of Berea, and a huge host of beloved cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home of Berea.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Wayne Combs officiating. Pallbearers will be: Shelton Crowe, Shane Jones, Austin Mills, Cody Mills, Bart Cain, and Keith Jones.
