Pre-arranging

Pre-arranging one's funeral is not a new concept. For many years, hundreds of families have placed their trust in our firm by pre-planning and/or prefunding their funerals. Many families, following a death, soon realize the value of pre-arranging. The many decisions, both informative and financial that must be made by family members are often burdensome.

There are several benefits of planning ahead. One is "peace of mind" in knowing that a family member will not have to make difficult decisions during an emotionally charged time of loss. Another is having one's personal wishes and desires honored at the time of death.

We invite you to come by 203 North Dogwood Drive, call (859) 986-8416 toll free 1-800-307-0463 or email us at info@lakesfuneralhome.com for your personal appointment. By meeting with one of our directors, you'll get honest and sincere answers to questions you may have such as:

Pre-arranging is a service offered by our firm to help families make wise and important decisions in a less stressful environment. There is, of course, no cost or obligation for our help and advice. Lakes Funeral Home is the only facility in the Berea, Southern Madison County area designed specifically as a funeral home. We have one floor, ground-level accessibility with handicap entrances/exits. Aesthetic features include an indoor garden area.

Please visit our pre-planning page if you would like to make your wishes know to us.

Cremation

If you are considering cremation, we encourage you to talk with one of our directors. Many people believe that choosing cremation limits their options. However, with cremation you have unlimited number of service and merchandise choices available.

Many people choose to have a visitation and funeral service preceding cremation. Others choose to have a memorial service following the cremation either in the funeral home, church, or other facility and some choose direct cremation. As you can see the options are numerous. Whatever your desire, we stand ready to assist you with your decision.

Monuments

Custom markers are personalized monuments that reflect the unique qualities of the individual(s) being memoralized. Common distinctions include shape, etchings, and inscriptions.

Upright Marker stand erect on a granite base and are often considered the standard in monument style. Slant Marker are midway in height between the bevel markers and the larger upright monuments.

Bevel Marker are low but not flat.Flat Markers lie flush to the ground. They are harder to locate in the cemetery, but allow for easy lawn maintenance.
